My paintings are a reflection of the various phases of my life from being a teenager to adult, from marriage to motherhood, and getting back to being a professional. My subjects deal with the impact of frequent uprootment and unsettlement, challenges of exclusion and rejection, disappointments and disagreements with respect to rediscovering the self. It’s not always the negatives but also the positive experiences of love, affection, compassion, belonging and learning contribute to the expression.
